The Secretary of State is a constitutional office responsible for the Great Seal of Alabama and for duties concerning public documents. The public information division publicizes those activities. These files document the activities of the Public Information Division of the Secretary of State. They contain memorandums, press releases, Glen Browder's 1987 oath of office, legislation, publications, speeches, 1990 proposed constitutional amendments, and public service announcements on half and three-quarter inch videotape, and reel-to-reel audiotape. These records contain information on election campaigns, voter registration, and abuse of absentee ballots.
